Casetta del Fuoco (Fire Cottage):
This 1 x 12M Container Unit was originally designed to be a temporary dwelling for our client who lost their home in the fires of 2017, hence the name of this cottage. It is quaint, rustic and compact and after living here for almost 2 years, it served all the needs for my client and that is why it makes the perfect self catering container stay.
The layout has 2 x bedrooms with a shared bathroom space along with a small kitchenette and cute little porch to enjoy the afternoon sun and surrounding untouched indigenous fynbos. The monopitch roof allows rainwater to run off the containers much quicker aswell as provide shading for outdoor spaces and glazed areas.
The container runs on solar panels with a grid supply aswell as solar geysers have been installed. Rainwater is collected for reuse aswell as recycled greywater. Along with some rules that have to be adhered to during your stay:
- Recycling bins ready to be used
- Biodegradable cleaning products and toiletries
- No single use plastics are provided or used
These clients really do try ensure that they live as off the grid and sustainable as possible.
