Located in a farmland district, this stunning home will be constructed out of 3 x 12M containers with a central steel framed structure. The large open-plan area will boast a spacious kitchen with scullery to the side, leading to the living area and onto the dining area to the deck side. The dining area will have large sliding stacking doors leading onto the decked area which is covered partially by a timber pergola structure. One wing of the home will consist of a study/guest room and the main bedroom with en-suite. The end section of the container will keep the existing container doors which can open up, so you can enjoy a private bath in the scenic outdoors.
The second wing of the home will consist of two bedrooms and a guest bathroom separating the rooms. One bedroom will have sliding doors leading to the decked area. The client's main requirement was abundant light and a courtyard space to develop her garden in. To bring in light, a floating roof with clerestory windows will be constructed to illuminate interior spaces. Alongside the herb garden, which will be found on the main bedroom side of the house, a steel staircase will be constructed, which will lead to a balcony above the containers. This is definitely the place to be with a glass of wine during an African sunset.
