The client wanted something different alright! We had a lot of fun designing this project and playing around with the containers like our own Lego blocks. Three containers located on the ground floor make up the open-plan kitchen, leading to a dining area which follows onto a spacious area for the lounge. This looks out onto the decked area with large stacking doors opening up this space to the local vegetation and mountain views.
Two bedrooms are found towards the ends of the containers, with a guest bathroom located right outside the bedrooms. A double-volume staircase leads to the first floor.

The staircase leads to an open, private living area with a study nook towards the end of the cantilevering container. An additional bathroom is located next to the living area, which then leads to the main bedroom which features an open-plan en-suite. Projection windows are located at each end of the protruding containers to frame the surrounding landscape. The upper living area leads to a large private balcony, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the surroundings in a sheltered nook of the house.

Each space was carefully planned to ensure that the areas were used wisely, by using larger windows and doors which open onto the outside it creates a sense of space and closeness with nature.
